This house strikes honor to its name! As it happens it concerns the birth house of the famous 19th century painter Hans Thoma who has mapped Bernau internationally. Already in 1839 Thoma described the village as the place in where he forgot all his worries and felt one with nature. Bernau also offers nowadays splendid hiking roads and a wonderful surrounding for the nature lover. The region is of course extra interesting because it enables you to take excursions to Switzerland as well as France and therefore combine three countries in one holiday. All of this from the approximately 1000 metres high situated village part Oberlehen in where the Hans-Thoma Haus lies at the edge of the village. It was built in 1755 and completely renovated in 2003. Now it offers accommodation to a spacious holiday home with two bedrooms and private balcony on the first floor. There is also a sunbathing- and playing meadow with garden furniture and a barbeque at your disposal for the nice days on the 4000 m² large parcel. The playground lies at 500 metres distance. If you look for a house with history and character in a superb environment, then here you are at the right address!
