The village Hohnstein lies in the superb Elbstein mountain range in the Sachsen Sweiz at approximately 40 km. south-east of Dresden. Its is mainly known for the nice market square which lies at the foot of an ancient old fortress. The region is also geological because exactly under Hohnstein, the border between the Lausitzer granite and the sand stone of the Elbstein mountain range runs through. The beautiful Holiday house Birgit is situated in the village part Ehrenberg and lies in the middle of the granite formation east of Hohnstein. The detached house lies on a 1200 m² large parcel at the edge of the village and has a wonderful view at the valley and the surrounding mountains. It has a garden with terrace, garden furniture and playing devices for the children (swing, sand box and play house with a slide). For excursions we recommend Königstein with its gorgeous castle or the Lichtenhainer waterfall. But convince yourself of the beauty of this region.
