In the middle of the surprisingly diverse Hunsrück you find the village Hoxel, which offers a number of possibilities to nature lovers, hikers or bikers. For cycling especially the Hunsrück-, Schinderhannes-, Soonwald- and Freiherr von Drais cycling routes can be recommended. They offer a fantastic view over this beautiful area on different levels of difficulty. If you rather like to hike the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig offers you various possibilities. In September 2007 this route has been crowned with the highest grades due to its good maintained paths and its surprisingly diverse course. If there is foul weather we recommend you to visit one of the many castles in the area, e.g. Burg Balduinseck, Burg Kastellaun or Burg Koppenstein. In winter, with good snow conditions, you can find three ski lifts, a toboggan run and several cross-country tracks and good winter sport facilities for the whole family (also in the evening)at the Erbeskopf. You can discover all this from the home of the Erz family. The spacious (70m²) apartment lies on the second floor and offers any convenience fro two people. On the other side of the road you find a garden with terrace, garden furniture and barbeque where you can perfectly enjoy the sun.
